So come and enjoy some nice island treats compliments of yours truly chef Sazzie. Merry Christmas to you all
Fijian Christmas Favourite Fijian Goat Palau
Fijian Goat Palau is one of the many favourite dishes that my family made during the festive season. Goat meat was a novelty back when I was growing up and still is and it’s very expensive to buy.
Christmas was one time of the year when the family didn’t look at the price tag but rather the sharing and love and the festive spirit of having, giving and putting a nice beautiful dinner on the table.
As in Canada my new home, we have turkey for Christmas dinner; goat meat was the choice for us in Fiji when I was growing up.
Goat meat can be prepared in one of the many ways, from spicy curries, stews, spicy Palau’s. At our home it was prepared in the above ways however the Palau was the dish for Christmas day
Mom and Dad would be up early in order to prepare this delicious dish. Dad was the butcher in the family and mom was the cook and I was moms sous chef LOL little Sazzie with his little fingers peeling the garlic and chopping the onions and measuring the spices.
Mommy is this enough is this enough? Calling out to my poor mom who was concentrating so hard to make this dish so perfect for us
and perfect it was.
Enough said already, from our table to yours enjoy the delicious goat palau an island Christmas favourite
Merry Christmas Island style.
